Business Technology

The Business Technology program provides students with the skills they need to operate a business. The program offers beginner and advanced training on how to perform a wide range of office responsibilities for a career in banking and general business settings, including entrepreneurship. Students can focus on career training in the areas of accounts payable/receiveable clerk, administrative assistant or entrepreneur.

The accounts payable program prepares students to provide the clerical support necessary to pay the financial obligations of a business. This includes processing payments, maintaining office records, making deposits and taking action on overdue payments.

The administrative assistant training program explores high-level technology and managerial skills while mastering office procedures, telephone etiquette and customer service skills. Upon the completion of this program, students will have the skills needed to take the Certiport IC3 and Microsoft Office Specialist certifications.

In the Entrepreneur program students will gain experience developing a business plan, identifying market needs, marketing a business, maintaining records and accounting processes, managing finances and integrating technology into business functions. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to make wise financial planning decisions and learn the legal, ethical and social obligations of an entrepreneur and business owner.
