Meridian Technology Center to Host “Supervisory Academy: Nine Sessions to Becoming a Better Manager”
January 17, 2019

The best supervisors and managers are clear-minded, performance-driven and people-oriented.

They must be able to effectively assess their work situations, understand and communicate with all employees, and determine the most appropriate responses to get the job done on time, within budget and up to standard.

These characteristics don’t always come naturally, but they can be learned.

Beginning February 7, Bonnie Cain-Wood, Communication Services Manager for OSU Libraries, will lead a nine-week Supervisory Academy that focuses on becoming a better manager.

“This series is great for supervisors seeking strategies to handle tough situations, increase communication and strengthen their management skills,” said Marcy Luter, Leadership and Staff Development Training Coordinator at Meridian. “Participants will have the opportunity to network with others in similar positions and share best practices.”

The Supervisory Academy will held Thursday afternoons through April 11. During these sessions, managers and supervisors will be given a number of tools so they can more effectively think on their feet as they work with people to create value.
