Speed Hating – A Date with Discrimination
February 1, 2018

Sanders_QuentinWe all make assumptions when we meet someone for the first time. From the way someone looks to the way they speak, we categorize them by what we know, or more accurately, what we think we know.

On February 13 as part of the ongoing HR Matters series co-sponsored by the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and Meridian Technology Center, join Quentin J. Sanders, Ph.D., J.D.; Equity/Diversity Specialist at Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, as he facilitates this interactive session that will discuss biases and stereotypes, and how they can have a negative impact on communication in the workplace.

“During this session participants will explore ways they can create an environment that encourages recognition and respect for everyone,” said Marcy Luter, Leadership and Staff Development Training Coordinator, at Meridian Technology Center.

HR Matters sessions are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Meridian’s campus.  Registration is $15 per session and includes lunch.  For more information or to enroll, contact Luter at marcyl@meridiantech.edu or (405) 377-3333 ext. 297 or toll-free at (888) 607-2509 or visit meridiantech.edu/HRMatters.
