Social media gives us a highly public outlet to air our opinions, which has blurred the lines between people’s personal and public lives. But how do your off-duty posts affect your identity at work and with your clients?
On February 11, as part of the Lunchtime Learning series co-sponsored by the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and Meridian Technology Center, Cara Adney will present, “Pause Before You Post: Social Media Best Practices for Professionals.”
In this session, Adney will offer strategies to avoid controversy, monitor your connections, avoid oversharing and do damage control when something goes awry. Plan to attend and ensure your online presence is an asset, not a liability.
Adney believes that every person has a story. As the Marketing and Media Relations Coordinator at Meridian Technology Center, storytelling is one of her primary responsibilities. From student success stories in the local paper to snapshots on social media, she is responsible for sharing the Meridian story, one word or picture at a time.
Lunchtime Learning sessions are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Meridian’s campus. Registration is $15 per session and includes lunch.
