January 5, 2018

You’ve got a great idea. How do you ensure you keep ownership of it? When it comes to the rules of intellectual property law, it’s not as easy as it seems.

During the January 18 Business for Breakfast event attorney Marc A. Brockhaus will discuss what entrepreneurs and small business owners need to do to ensure they maintain ownership of their ideas. In addition to providing an overview on copyright, trademark and patent law, Brockhaus will discuss how to:

  • Structure deals and own copyrightable subject matter
  • Use brand names properly
  • Understand deadlines involved in seeking patent protection

Marc A. Brockhaus leads the electrical engineering and systems group at Oklahoma City’s Dunlap Codding. He is involved in counseling, transactions, litigation and prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Marc is ranked in the top category for intellectual property law by Chambers USA:  America’s Leading Lawyers for Business 2017. Marc is extensively involved in patent-related litigation and licensing efforts involving the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
