Whether you are a team of one or 100, today’s market requires all team members to have strong technology skills.

Meridian Technology Center’s new Computer Training Services Workshop series is designed to help teams make the most of their resources while finding new ways to use technology that is already at their fingertips.

“Our new format provides an opportunity for everyone on a business team to learn, apply and improve their skills so they can be more productive at work,” said Kim Strom, Meridian’s Computer Training Services Coordinator. “Workshops are designed to help teams discover how to use the strengths of each employee to solve problems.”

Workshop topics include Microsoft Excel 2016, Photo Enhancing using Adobe Photoshop CC, Microsoft Word 2016, Google My Business – Get Found on Google Search and Maps, Adobe InDesign, and Small Business Website Creation.

The new workshop format includes instruction, hands-on application, and time to work as a team. For example, the Excel workshop consists of a brief introduction to a business scenario followed by a transition into hands-on work sessions to explore various solutions based on each team member’s skill level.

“In the breakout sessions attendees will build key skills needed to solve the problem that was presented at the beginning of the workshop,” Strom explained. “At the end of the session, everyone will come back together and reveal the solution they had based on their skill level.”

The Excel workshop focuses on how to track, manage and report information, and the Word workshop lets users collaborate on developing an employee manual, a newsletter and a mass mailing. Adobe workshops focus on either photo enhancement or design, with attendees creating fliers, postcards and brochures. The Google workshop can help customers find your business online and the WordPress workshop will help you build a new site for getting an online presence established.
