Meridian and Local Chambers to Host a Get Your Business Online with Google Workshop
September 7, 2018

Meridian Technology Center is partnering with the Stillwater, Guthrie and Perry chambers of commerce to help small businesses grow their online presence.

On October 5, Meridian will host Get Found on Google with Search and Maps, a workshop provided through Google’s Get Your Business Online platform that brings community members, business owners, and civic leaders together to help small businesses succeed on the web. The program empowers communities to support their local businesses and to encourage them to get on the map.

“Local businesses keep our communities strong,” said Kim Strom, Computer Training Services Coordinator at Meridian Technology Center. “Meridian, along with the Stillwater, Guthrie and Perry chambers of commerce, play a key role in economic development. This workshop is the perfect opportunity for us to work together to help businesses and communities grow.”

Drew Tonsmeire, one of Google’s certified trainers, will lead the workshop. Attendees will be introduced to Google My Business, a free tool to manage a business’s information across Google. During the hands-on training session, Tonsmeire will demonstrate how to add or update your information on Google Search and Maps, optimize and promote your website, and much more. He will wrap up the session with valuable tips on tracking and measuring progress to ensure your time, effort and resources online are maximized.

The Google My Business workshop takes place on October 5 from 11 am to 1 pm in at Meridian Technology Center. Registration is $15 and includes lunch, training and networking. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own device to maximize their training experience. To register visit meridiantech.edu/google.
