An Entrepreneurial Journey
May 3, 2018

Every entrepreneurial journey begins with a single step. The hardest step is often the decision to venture into the unknown world of becoming an entrepreneur.

The May 17 Business for Breakfast will feature Melissa Wiles on the lessons she’s learned along the journey to become a successful entrepreneur.

In 2009, when Wiles graduated from Oklahoma State University she had a marketing degree but not a job offer. She took that as a sign to explore her interest in entrepreneurship.

Wiles recognized a gap in the intimate apparel market and began to research the viability of a bra fitting store in Stillwater. In January 2014, she opened Whisper Intimate Apparel. The store provides a private and comfortable environment for women of all ages to get properly fitted for bras and intimate apparel. At Whisper, the motto is: “Beauty is not made here; it’s rediscovered.”

Since opening, Whisper Intimate Apparel has been nominated for a 2017 and 2018 Best of Intima Award, recognizing independent retailers and small specialty intimate apparel stores. Wiles and the store have also been featured in Body Magazine.
