We Remember – Stephanie O’Brien

Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Stephanie O’Brien as we struggle with the loss of such a bright, caring and selfless employee, but, most importantly, friend.

WE REMEMBER

Stephanie was an integral part of the Career Planning Center. She was part of a team that helped ensure student success from the first time they set foot on the Meridian campus. Her perseverance and brave spirit through her battle with cancer were inspiring. She always focused on the positive. Stephanie made an impact on the staff and students, and we will miss her. –Jeanie Zagar, Executive Director, Career Planning/Career Development

Stephanie was such a sweet and kind soul who was one of the most hard-working, loyal and diligent people I have ever met. She was my “go to” throughout the enrollment and reports processes. We shared a love for details. Stephanie was always looking for a more efficient and effective way to get more work done. She was a great inspiration with her tremendous work ethic and perseverance. I am going to miss her greatly throughout the enrollment season. She was such an inspiration to those around her and always found good in people and situations. She was a blessing to Meridian, the students and the Career Planning Center. –Teresa Klingsick, Career Development Specialist

Stephanie was my hero to the end. She was so strong and mighty! I am a better person today because of the person she was. Some people come into your life, and you feel like you have known them your whole life … that was Steph. We shared so many stories and so many laughs. I will cherish our friendship forever. –Sandy Colasacco, Director of First Impressions

I’ve never met anybody like Stephanie in my life. She had a smile on her face and a laugh you could hear all the way down the hall. Even when she didn’t feel her best, she was smiling, and, through her pain, Stephanie wanted to share and teach others about her journey. She was always so positive. She is missed. –Cathy Hampton, Custodian

Everyone knew Stephanie would do anything for her foster and rescue dogs – any dogs really. For those who wish to honor Stephanie in some way, her family requests that you donate to your local animal rescue groups. A few of the groups Stephanie worked closely with include Cimarron Valley Humane Society, Stillwater Humane Society and the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals. Whether you donate money or your time, Stephanie would be grateful that you made a difference.
