Meridian will begin making preparations next week to return to 5-day on-campus instruction on November 9. We are sharing this information with you today to allow your family time to plan and our staff time to prepare equipment, classrooms and curriculum in order to best serve students.
According to the Oklahoma State School Boards Association, Payne County is in the yellow category as of today. Returning to this schedule follows the plan Meridian adopted this fall with safety protocol guidance from the State Department of Education.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 map from the OSSBA, which could result in a decision to stay with or return to blended learning if conditions change.
Meridian has 10 area partner schools in five counties whose students attend classes on our campus, which also factors into our decision-making as we work to keep the risk for transmission as low as possible. Three of the five counties are in yellow as of today. We continue to ask students, staff and visitors to follow the city of Stillwater’s face covering ordinance requiring coverings in public spaces and educational institutions. In addition, the following health and safety precautions at this link are still in effect.
We are grateful for the work our staff has invested and for the flexibility our students and their families have shown in helping us create the safest possible learning environment.
Please know that our team meets regularly, and that we are doing our best to adapt as needed while keeping the safety of our students and staff at the forefront of our decision-making.
