Ground Penetrating Radar Certification Training

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a locating technology complimentary to electromagnetic locating. GPR technology allows you to see below the surface to identify potential obstacles and challenges with underground construction. This class provides a practical, hands-on GPR training for entry to intermediate level utility locators who want to integrate GPR imaging into their locating services. Participants will:

Focus on applications of GPR technology and how it compliments EM locating.
Understand the science of GPR and factors affecting effectiveness and reliability.
Gather, process and interpret data.
Receive hands-on practice with GPR instruments, including exercises and troubleshooting.

A certification test verifying the participants ability:

General knowledge of GPR instruments.
Assess the likelihood of a successful GPR scan.
Interpretation of image results.

Participants will leave the class prepared to go into the field and utilize GPR instruments and technology.
