Description of Duties: Assist the Senior Veterans Education Specialist with the administration of the Department of Veterans Affairs GI Bill ® educational program at Rose State College. Assist in the advisement of students regarding eligibility, benefits and requirements of the GI Bill ® program. Verify enrollment and submit certifications to the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Education Office. Advise students on educational benefits available through the GI Bill®. Assist students in resolving educational benefit and financial issues with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Report changes in enrollment, grades and attendance to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Assist in the maintenance of Veterans student GI Bill® files.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree or equivalent. Two (2) years related work experience. Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong desire to work with students and Veterans in a team environment. Light lifting up to 10 lbs. and light carrying up to 10lbs. required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Veteran or experience working in Higher Education and/or working with Veterans.
