**Full-Time, Day Shift**
**Monday – Friday**
**32 hours per week**
Primary responsibilities will be to transport residents to and from appointments. Assisting them on and off the bus or van when needed. Ensure the bus/van is properly maintained. Assisting the Property Maintenance Technician with building maintenance where needed. Duties may include painting, general cleaning, snow removal, mowing and carpentry.
•Perform work as defined by the Executive Director.
•Secure all passengers properly when using the handicapped lift.
•Ensure all passengers are properly secured prior to putting the vehicle in motion.
•Safely transport residents on Primrose bus/van.
•Follow established reporting protocol:◦Inform Executive Director of van/maintenance needs
◦Monitor the van; i.e. – Keeping the gas tank full, cleaning the van, watching the oil change schedule, etc.
•Attend any in-service educational programs recommended by the Executive Director.
•Provide a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the residents
•Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties.
•Understand facility fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during fire drills and actual emergencies.
•Perform any other duties or special assignments as directed by the Executive Director.
•Assist in repairing and maintaining vacated rooms which includes: painting, carpet cleaning, walls, doors, woodworking, plumbing and electrical work.
•Educations: High School diploma preferred
•Experience: Previous maintenance experience preferred
•Aptitude: Ability to read, write and understand and follow written and oral instructions. Must be proficient in English.
•Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
•Motor coordination is required for various work routines such as driving the van and working with tools.
•Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, and decision making skills
•Able and willing to work flexible hours
•Must have a compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
•Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and vendors
Physical Demands: Must be able to reach, stoop, bend, carry and manipulate various items. Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs. Using proper body mechanics or available equipment to help. Physical activity required throughout the shift.
•Valid Drivers License
•General knowedge of building maintenance and common tools
•Adhere to and carry out all policies and procedures as noted in the maintenance/transportation department
•Report on-the-job injuries to the Executive Director before the end of your shifts.
•Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, residents, families and visitors
•Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, co-workers and families in the facility (see Community Manager for the HIPPA Privacy Act)

•Employees will not work under the influence of mood-altering or illegal drugs or alcohol. If you are required to take medication, we ask that inform the Excutive Director that you are taking meds and for how long
