Qualifications

Must possess knowledge of proper methods and safe use of maintenance equipment such as reel mowers, front end loaders, mowers, weed eaters, etc.

 

Must possess knowledge of proper methods and safe use of fertilizers and herbicides.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

  1. Ensure that the campus grounds are clean at all times.

 

  1. Mow, sweep, trim, edge and control weeds across the campus.

 

  1. Weed and water flower beds as needed.

 

  1. Move furniture and set up classrooms when needed.

 

  1. Assist the Maintenance staff as necessary.

 

  1. Abide by all policies and procedures adopted by the MTC Board of Education.

 

  1. Promote Meridian Technology Center, its programs and employees at every available opportunity.

  1. Perform any other duties assigned by the Grounds Supervisor, Executive Director of Planning & Operations, and Superintendent.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is very active and requires full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.

 

Standards of Performance

The Summer Grounds Helper will be evaluated on the previously listed responsibilities to determine satisfactory compliance.
