Project Manager, Film and Special Training Projects

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

A minimum of five years of experience in the Film, Television, Marketing, or Education industry is required. Three years of coordinating, delivering, or implementing training for adult learners preferred.

Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365.

Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

Willingness to accept flexible work hours including some evenings and weekends required.

Willingness to maintain office presence at both the Meridian Technology Center (MTC) Main and South Campus required, depending on current project(s).

Must obtain BISC certification within the first year of employment.

Ability to build business relationships and rapport with new and existing clients from within the district, and where applicable different cultures and personality types, specifically in the Film and Television Entertainment sector required; a demonstrated track record of doing so is preferred.

Must be a team player and possess a high level of team, customer, and client confidentiality.

Essential Job Functions

 

  1. Plan, initiate, and supervise all facets of customized and open-enrollment film/television industry training activities, as well as those assigned as special training projects. Includes coordination of curriculum and materials for training programs.

 

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of each client’s industry and business issues as well as their unique culture, needs, and expectations where applicable on special training projects. Establish training needs by formal needs assessment and by requests from client and partner organizations and apply appropriate adult training principles. Recommend training solutions that are technically accurate and appropriate to client business objectives. Ensure timely delivery on commitments.

 

  1. Generate and maintain a rolling 24-month training strategy, or roadmap, to establish and grow MTC into a recognized and specialized training provider for film and television workforce development.

 

  1. Demonstrated ability to interpret industry regulations and relay those into training and facility requirements.

 

  1. Interview, hire and evaluate instructors and/or adjunct instructors for training programs and make sure that all necessary documentation is in place.

 

  1. Supervise and manage support staff as assigned including scheduling, performance management, and productivity.

 

  1. Work with the MTC marketing department to promote training programs in a professional, cost-effective manner and communicate the impact and return on investment of training and service delivery.

 

  1. Professionally represent and market the overall services of MTC, its programs, and employees at every available opportunity, to serve a broader base of clients.

 

  1. Routinely make planned and spontaneous contacts with businesses, industries, and non-profit organizations across the district to establish and maintain long-term business relationships. Inquire and maintain documentation of individual client performance and productivity goals.  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all pertinent client and industry sector data.

 

  1. Work closely with MTC staff to schedule training classrooms and mobile labs. Must be able to manage multiple training schedules and monitor instructor availability and utilization.

 

  1. Complete required reports and handle correspondence that is associated with the position in a timely manner. Attend routine departmental staff meetings; report on key activities, assignments, and leading performance indicators related to achieving divisional and organizational goals and objectives.

 

  1. Seek out, obtain and maintain appropriate training certifications and participate in applicable professional organizations to effectively understand, market and deliver training programs offered by MTC in the film/television sector as well as those that fall under special training projects.

 

  1. Abide by all policies and procedures adopted by the MTC Board of Education.

  1. Must be able to stand on your feet for up to five hours and have the ability to walk for extended periods during training, industry tours, or trade shows (this could be outdoors, indoors, up and down stairs, or a combination of any or all).

 

  1. Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing as much as 25 pounds (film equipment, computer monitors, computers, etc.). Must be able to push items weighing up to 50 pounds on a dolly or cart when required for training or workshops.

 

  1. Accept other duties as deemed necessary by the Superintendent/CEO, or Executive Director of Workforce and Economic Development

Standards of Performance

The Project Manager, Film and Special Training Projects will be evaluated on the previously listed responsibilities in accordance with the MTC Performance Review Guidelines.  These evaluations will determine salary increases and career advancement possibilities.

Campus Location

Office presence at both the Meridian Technology Center Main Campus and South Campus locations.
