Provides labor to move materials as required by various University Departments. Operate vans, trucks, gators, trailers and other equipment to collect and/or relocate campus materials.
Provides labor necessary to set up and take down special events.
Overtime is an essential function of this position and may require work during non-business hours which include evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and when the University is closed. Some irregular and extra hours as needed for projects and emergencies. Emergencies frequently involve difficult working conditions.
Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management regardless of the weather conditions.
The incumbent will be required to provide their own basic hand tools and maintain them in good working condition.
This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally. Position will require work outdoors in all kinds of inclement weather as well as working around hazardous equipment and handling extremely heavy material.
Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (hard hat, vest, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and are not for personal use.
May work around hazardous equipment and handle extremely heavy material.
High school degree/GED.
Oneyear of related experience.
Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver’s license. A valid driver’s license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Forklift certification within 90-days of hire.

Ability to become proficient in the use of “AiM” computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology.

Three years of related experience or two years post-secondary education and one year of experience.
