Primarily responsible for the upkeep and repair of all facility equipment and general facility maintenance.
1. Essential Tasks:
Fully participates in the CGB Safety Program and attends daily pre-shift meetings.
Complies with all OSHA and CGB Safety requirements including wearing appropriate PPE for task being performed. Also complies with all Environmental regulations.
Complies with all ISO standards, where applicable.
Responsible to understand industry standards and research needed information to ensure regulatory compliance.
Plans and prioritizes work for the day based on facility needs, with input from the supervisor.
Performs routine preventative maintenance to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime.
Performs daily walk-through of facility and equipment.
Repair or replace defective equipment or parts using hand tools and power tools.
Diagnose mechanical problems, determine corrective action and take actions necessary to repair, replace or request assistance, as needed.
Maintains needed inventory to complete routine tasks.
Completes documentation timely, accurately and legibly e.g. checklists, updating electronic PM records, estimates of repair/replacement, etc.
May be required to perform more highly skilled maintenance tasks e.g. electrical, fabrication, welding, cutting, blue print reading, carpentry etc. , where applicable.
Attends continuing education, as required.
Responsible for the clean-up of the work area during and after task is completed.

Has an intermediate to advanced level of understanding of mechanical maintenance, knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Able to follow direction and to use logical thought process to interpret oral and written instructions and recommend alternative solutions to mechanical problems.
Able to read and understand measurements, perform basic math e.g. add, subtract, multiply, divide.
Able to complete documentation requirements.
Have a basic knowledge of computers and software.
Able to use tools appropriate for assigned task.
Able to work well in both a team environment and independently

Able to converse and discern necessary information with co-workers, contractors and customers.
Previous mechanical maintenance experience highly preferred.
Able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs. occasionally.

Use near vision, peripheral vision and depth perception for tasks being performed.
Requires manual dexterity e.g., ability to grasp, manipulate and assemble small objects.
Requires arm/hand steadiness and multi-limb coordination.
Able to safely walk on barge surface(s) and on top of railcars.
Able to work in confined spaces and around deep water.
Able to climb ladders and perform work at significant heights.
Able to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
Able to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over two-way radio.
Able to understand and communicate written instructions
Able to work extended hours, weekends, holidays and/or alternate shifts, as needed.
Able to work in an environment with high dust levels around grain and other bulk products.
5%-20% Travel may be required at some facilities. This may include off-site training and/or work at alternate locations. Travel to nearby sites required.
Degree/Diploma Obtained: High School Diploma
Program of Study: HS Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of experience and education
