Primary Function

Nurse/MA Job Description
Summary – Cares for and treats patients in medical office, as directed by Physician/Provider, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Prepares patient for and assists with examinations
• Administers injections and medications, dresses wounds and incisions, interprets Physician/Provider’s instructions to patients, assists with procedures and performs related tasks as directed.
• Maintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patients
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment and maintains stock of supplies and medications
• Conducts specified laboratory tests and x-rays
• Records and develops electrocardiograms
• Fulfills daily cleaning duties and other cleaning/organizing as needed
• Collects for and performs UDS/BAT
• Other duties as assigned

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively on the phone to patients, insurance adjustors and/or employer groups.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Must have knowledge of simple database software and internet software.
Other Skills and Abilities: Phlebotomy and injections required. X-ray and IV a plus, these skills can be learned on the job, but must be mastered to keep the position.
Physical Demands: The employee must be able to stand and walk long periods of time. Reasonable accommodations cay be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift, and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually quite.

Evening and weekends.

Salary Range

$10-$12
