Exhibiting stewardship for the cooperative, the Human Resources Specialist professionally represents the cooperative by administering the payroll, employee benefit program and HRIS system while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of employee information. Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources while carrying out the objectives and goals of the Human Resources department.

The duties and responsibilities described below are the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be all inclusive for this position.
Administers bi-weekly payroll process by collecting, calculating, entering data, and preparing reports
Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
Process accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, ACA, etc.)
Champion the HRIS data entry; maintain timely updates and ensure accurate information is entered.
Responsible for prompt and accurate guidance to all employees and management regarding all payroll and benefit programs including timely orientation programs while ensuring consistent adherence to HR policies, procedures and practices.
Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, disability and FMLA.
Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Maintain confidentiality in all human resource department activities in order to protect the privacy of employees and management.
Administer the department record retention program and ensure the program is in accordance with EEO, HIPPA, privacy and related requirements.
Provide assistance in the development and implementation of HR management programs such as: employee development, recruitment and hiring, employee performance programs, wage and salary planning and proactive employee relations.
Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Reports to Director of Human Resources
Decisions and duties are monitored and reviewed and have a controlled impact on the organization. Work requires a moderate degree of responsibility for information, technology and/or equipment.Position has no formal supervisory responsibility for the work of others.

Specific requirements and competencies include:
Solid Educational Background – Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field with at least three years of relative work experience required
Must be qualified and able to act as cooperative’s Credit Union Director
Attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities
Strong initiative with the ability to anticipate issues proactively
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
Must have and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license
