-Review menu and prepare food products according to provided standards and recipes.
-Return and properly label, cover, and store food products for future use following standards and guidelines.
-Maintain cleanliness of preparation areas, refrigerator, freezer, and storage areas by sanitizing and cleaning during and after each use following standards and guidelines.
-Assist with planning, inventorying, and ordering food items in preparation for snacks and meals.
-Report to Director the need of any maintenance of kitchen equipment, materials, or supplies.
-Work in areas as necessary for completion of service based on the program goals and priorities.
-Assist in the supervision of part-time or student employees.
Physical Requirements: Standing and/or walking is required up to seven plus hours in varying temperatures. Lifting supplies up to forty pounds would be frequently required. Initial pushing/pulling up shoulder level is required frequently and regularly up to seven plus hours per day for up to four hours at a time. High School/GED; Experience in food/meal services or related area.
NAEYC, OKDHS and other local/state criteria, First Aid & CPR and Serv Safe Certification (can be acquired after hire) must be maintained.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure and possess organizational skills as well as decision making skills, time-management and basic knowledge of nutritional needs of children. Lifting may exceed 40 lbs.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and understand standard measurements and conversions is required.
