Evening Custodian

Must be able to frequently lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.

Needs to be a self-motivated team player and must be able to perform repetitive work.

Knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials, and methods desired.

Ability to perform preventative maintenance and proper cleaning of equipment is preferred.

Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm – 11 pm.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Clean floors and dust furniture in all areas of the school.


  1. Check all doors to make sure they are secured each evening.


  1. Clean all windows inside.


  1. Check vacuum cleaners as needed.


  1. Repair and/or report any broken or misused items to the custodial supervisor.


  1. Empty all trash cans inside.


  1. Scrub and wax tile floors as needed.


  1. Vacuum and spot clean carpets as well as shampoo carpets as time permits.


  1. Clean bathrooms.


  1. Maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition.


  1. Abide by all policies and procedures adopted by the MTC Board of Education.

  1. Complete other tasks or projects as requested by the Superintendent, Executive Director, Planning and Operations, or the Custodial Supervisor.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.


Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Standards of Performance

The Evening Custodian will be evaluated on the previously listed responsibilities based on Meridian Technology Center’s Performance Review Guidelines.  These evaluations will determine salary increases and career advancement possibilities.
