Our Stillwater Plant employs approximately 150 people and operates 24 hours a day, up to 7 days a week. Production teams work a 12 hour rotating shift. The plant manufactures and ships vinyl sheet flooring products.

Electrical Maintenance Technician

PRIMARY PURPOSE

An Electrical Technician is primarily responsible for electrical maintenance and project work on equipment associated with all aspects of the manufacture of vinyl sheet flooring.  Some mechanical maintenance will also be required as necessary.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions of the Job:  Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

 

  • Maintain, repair, and improve plant electrical equipment.
  • Maintain, repair, and improve plant mechanical equipment, as necessary.
  • Work with plant employees, outside vendors, contractors, and other resources to improve plant process and equipment.
  • Work with plant maintenance and technical staff to proactively improve utilization of resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Reports to Maintenance Supervisor/Manager
  • Works closely and partners with other Plant Maintenance Employees
  • Works closely and in cooperation with plant Process and Electrical Engineers
  • Works closely and in cooperation with Maintenance Planning personnel
  • Implements systems compatible with requirements of ISO certification
  • Works closely and in cooperation with operating teams and focus areas
  • Work with Operations team/Maintenance Technicians/ Plant Resource Group
  • Helps coordinate work with outside vendors, suppliers, contractors, and equipment  manufacturers

 

Non-Essential Functions of the Job: The following duties are considered secondary to the essential duties listed above:

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES:  None

 

TRAVEL:

  • Occasional travel for conferences, vendor meetings or similar activities may be required (<10%)

 

Required Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Strong electrical aptitude (Electrical Theory, Motors, Controls, Conduit, Schematics)
  2. Ability to troubleshoot and program PLC’s
  3. Mechanical knowledge – to include hydraulics, pneumatics, hand tools, and lubrication
  4. Continuous improvement focus
  5. Ability to work in a semi-autonomous environment
  6. Strong communication skills – verbal and oral
  7. Electronic Communication skills: ability to effectively use information systems including personal computers, fax and telephones, and other office equipment
  8. An Associate’s degree or a minimum of 5 years of skill-related experience
  9. Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Allen Bradley PLC, Ladder Logic, Wonderware, and Control Logix experience
  2. Demonstrated ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
  3. Working knowledge of statistical process control
  4. Demonstrated leadership skills
  5. Desire for career progression
