Draftsman Mechanical Design

Primary Function

Aid in the design and production of Waldon and Broce products, to include mechanical, structural, electrical, final fit and application. Depending on the project, employee will either work as an individual or as part of a team, taking on various design tasks.

Work Environment

Office environment most of the time, with some work In Plant or outdoors. Plant and outdoor conditions include variable heat, humidity, dust, and noise; physical hazards such as soldering or welding apparatus, sharp objects, and moving machinery; hazardous materials such as solder and adhesives. Wearing of prescribed PPE required any time while In Plant


Required Skills


Must be 18 years of age.

Engineering Degree or Draftsman Certification a plus.

Must have 2 years’ experience in designing with SolidWorks.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Positive attitude and work ethic.

Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.

Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

  • Collect and analyze technical information from a variety of sources, to include technical drawings and documents, conversations with engineers, product managers and suppliers, operation of equipment, and your own tests & results.
  • Create design concepts for units and systems using SolidWorks.
  • Create technical drawings that can be used for the assembly of machines and other equipment. These drawings may be used to install and repair machinery or put together consumer products
  • Assist with Field Trials, develop and de-bug prototypes to show compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare production documentation.
  • Meet or exceed typical expectations for creativity, productivity, quality, and safety.

Other Projects as assigned

Rapidly changing workload and priorities, requiring a high level of teamwork and cooperation.



Monday to Friday, typically 8 to 10-hour days, occasional overnight travel.
