Daytime Custodian

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and valid Oklahoma driver’s license required.

 

Knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials, and methods desired.

 

Ability to perform preventative maintenance and proper cleaning of equipment is preferred.

 

Must be able to perform repetitive work.

 

Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures preferred.

 

Needs to be a self-motivated team player and must be able to perform repetitive work.

 

Must be punctual, present for work, and maintain regular attendance while working the following schedule: Monday-Friday 5:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Clean floors and dust furniture in all areas.

 

  1. Unlock gates.

 

  1. Check entrance doors to make sure they are open each morning.

 

  1. Clean all windows inside.

 

  1. Check vacuum cleaners once a week. Change bag when needed.

 

  1. Repair and/or report any broken or misused items to the Custodial Supervisor.

 

  1. Empty all trash cans throughout the school.

 

  1. Clean and wax tile floors as needed.

 

  1. Shampoo carpets and chairs as needed.

 

  1. Set-up meeting rooms for classes and events according to event sheets.

 

  1. Greet campus guests and visitors in a professional manner and provide assistance with directions or information as needed.

 

  1. Assist with shipping and receiving as requested by the Custodial Supervisor.

 

  1. Be available to assist with locking doors and securing campus when requested.

 

  1. Abide by all policies and procedures adopted by the MTC Board of Education.

  1. Perform any special tasks as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor, Executive Director, Planning and Operations, or the Superintendent/CEO.

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Standards of Performance

The Daytime Custodian will be evaluated on the previously listed responsibilities to determine satisfactory compliance. These evaluations will determine salary increases and career advancement possibilities.
