Coordinator, Northwest OK Postsecondary Consortium and Registration Specialist

Primary Function

SUMMARY:  Coordinate between seven Career Technology Centers, NOC, Redlands, and Oklahoma Panhandle State University.  This position is a grant-funded position coordinating funding through a Carl Perkins Postsecondary Grant.

Required Skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Coordinate federal grant programs related to career technology partnerships, e.g., supervising, evaluating, and preparing yearly budgets for the NWOPSC Carl Perkins Postsecondary Grant
  • Develop materials deemed necessary by consortium members
  • Communicate regularly with consortium members
  • Coordinate tech prep initiatives with four tech prep coordinators
  • Conduct student presentations
  • Serve as a higher education resource person to consortium members
  • Assist technology students in the registration process
  • Provide information to PN students wishing to bridge into an ADN or BSN program
  • Provide academic advisement to pre-Allied health majors
  • Provide academic and career advisement to students interested in Allied Health and other technical fields
  • Maintain job manual for position with regular updates to describe processes when substitutions are needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A minimum educational level of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s preferred.  A degree or certification in an Allied Health field is highly desirable.  Knowledge of the Oklahoma State Career Technology System is desirable.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, push, lift, haul, pull, reach, carry, grasp, squat or stoop, bend and twist the body while performing essential duties, use hands to operate controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk or hear.
