Qualifications

Pawnee & Morrison route

 

Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Oklahoma commercial driver’s license class B with (P) passenger and (S) school bus endorsements.

Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Oklahoma school bus driving certificate.

Current health certificate required.

Must have an excellent driving record.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Keep physically fit and personally clean.
  2. Keep all certificates and licenses valid.
  3. Carry out all policies set by the local board of education and administration.
  4. Inspect the bus daily for mechanical safety and report any deficiencies.
  5. Keep the bus in a clean condition by sweeping and washing the bus inside and out.
  6. Know steps to take in an emergency and have a basic knowledge of first aid.
  7. Account for the behavior of all students on the bus.
  8. Make all reports on time as requested.
  9. Report to the proper officials any traffic violations that affect the school bus and its passengers.
  10. Attend any in-service training that is required by the Transportation Supervisor or Director of Instruction.
  11. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor or Director of Instruction.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Standards of Performance

The bus driver will be evaluated on the previously listed responsibilities based on Meridian Technology Center’s Performance Review Guidelines. This evaluation will determine salary increases and career advancement opportunities.
