Primary Function

The Box Office Manager is responsible for coordinating the operation of all ticket and subscription series sales, mailings, and reports for events in the OCCC Bruce Owen Theater (BOT) and Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater (VPACT) on the OCCC campus. The specialist manages all subscription sales, single event sales, group ticket sales, ticketing operations, box office operations, and patron service issues, and assists with other tasks associated with event marketing and promotion. The ideal candidate must have excellent customer service, staff management, and accounting skills, be highly customer focused, detail oriented, and possess the ability to coordinate the completion of multiple tasks or projects within established time frames.

The OCCC Box Office provides ticketing services for OCCC performing arts events, and outside theater rentals. Services include ticket sales (phone, in person, and online), ticketing application maintenance, storage, and reporting of patron demographic data and income accounting. The OCCC Box Office uses an Internet-based ticketing system, Vendini, to support these services

Required Skills

Minimum Education/Experience:
Two years performing arts box office management experience, that includes two years management of subscription series, and the training and supervision of staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated skills in financial management, with the ability to accurately balance accounts daily.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

In-depth understanding of Box Office systems and the role of the Box Office within a Business Operation.

Demonstrated strength as a Team player.

Enthusiasm and talent for working with the public.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Management level skills in customer service, conflict resolution, motivation, and accountability enforcement.

The ability to work effectively under pressure in a changing and deadline oriented environment.

The ability to train Box Office staff on ticketing software and procedures effectively

Hours

This is a full-time position; generally Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, however, includes evening/weekend hours to support scheduled Box Office events.

Salary Range

$14.70 – $19.00 hourly
