Meridian Students and Families:
We learned today that a student has tested positive for COVID-19. We are working directly with health officials and are writing to you in order to be transparent and provide the information that we are able to share. The safety of those on our campus is our top priority.
In following HIPAA and FERPA regulations, we are not releasing their identity. They are isolating at home and have not been on campus since testing positive. In addition to the contact tracing that health officials will complete to notify anyone potentially exposed, and in accordance with the plan Meridian put in place before the school year started, we have notified anyone we believe may have had close contact with the individual who is positive.
If you have not received a separate communication, we do not believe that you (your student) had close contact with the individual who tested positive for COVID-19 and you should remain in on-campus instruction. No additional action is needed.
As a reminder, Meridian’s commitment to providing a safe environment includes the steps at this link. We are asking students and guests to continue partnering with us by following the guidelines below:
If a person knows they have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, they should contact their health care provider or their local county health department for information on next steps. Please visit coronavirus.health.ok.gov for additional guidance. For additional information please reference Meridian’s COVID-19 information at meridiantech.edu/covid19info. Should you have questions, please contact the Career Planning Center at 405.377.3333.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your family, especially as we face this pandemic together. Thank you for your support of Meridian Technology Center.
