Programs and Classes for Entrepreneurs

The Center for Business Development offers several programs and classes for entrepreneurs, ranging from individual consultation to monthly programs.

1 Million Cups

Based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and network over a million cups of coffee, the Kauffman Foundation developed 1 Million Cups – a free program for entrepreneurs designed to educate, engage and connect them with their communities. Stillwater’s 1 Million Cup meetings are 1st Wednesday of the month (except Jan and July) 9-10 a.m. The meetings are held at 619 S. Entrepreneur Essentials (7 Steps to Launch a Company with Confidence and Pitfalls to Avoid)

In this free two-hour class for entrepreneurs, we cover the basic questions you need to answer when deciding to open a business, paying particular attention to market research and financials, two major areas that cause trouble for all new businesses.

Business Startup Camp

Ready to get started on your new business or business plan? The Business Startup Camp is a class for entrepreneurs held across 6 one-hour sessions using the Business Model Canvas methodology. Work one on one or in a small group setting on questions such as, What is the market for my product? Contact us for pricing and upcoming camp dates.

Business For Breakfast

Entrepreneurs and small business owners meet for breakfast the third Thursday of the month from 7:30-9 a.m. in the CBD training room (room 104 North). The networking breakfast consists of a guest speaker and networking activities with topics including marketing and public relations, finding new customers, work/life balance, time management, legal matters, HR issues, how others have found success, and recruiting, training and retaining employees.
