Meridian and Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Partner for Virtual Lunchtime Learning: Grit, the Power of Passion and Perseverance
March 30, 2021

The secret to outstanding achievement is not talent, but a special blend of passion and persistence called “grit.”

On April 14, as part of the Lunchtime Learning series co-sponsored by the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and Meridian Technology Center, Bonnie Cain Wood will present “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance,” a session based on the book of the same name.

During this training, Cain Wood will discuss what goes through our brains when we fail, and how that—not talent or luck—makes all the difference. Learn how to strengthen your own level of grit and how this can impact every facet of your life.

Cain-Wood loves sunshine, movies, the color yellow and being a redhead. She serves as Manager of Library Communications at her alma mater, Oklahoma State University, where she earned a bachelor of science in environmental science and a master of science in mass communications. Cain Wood stumbled upon a career in public relations after a life-changing afternoon washing dirt. She has worked in communications for more than a decade, specializing in education, libraries and the arts. Cain Wood became accredited in public relations in 2007. Now, she enjoys mentoring students and sharing her skills and experience with others.

Lunchtime Learning sessions are held from noon to 1 p.m. and will take place virtually using Zoom. Registration for the April 14 training is $10. Lunchtime Learning sessions take place twice a month. For complete descriptions of each session or to enroll, visit meridiantech.edu/lunchtime or contact Marcy Luter at marcyl@meridiantech.edu.
